Holiday Gifts for Her

I've been travelling a bunch with work and my to-do list has been piling up, so this space has been a bit neglected - apologies for being so MIA. I was working in New York and then took a quick weekend trip home to Toronto before heading back to London, where I celebrated my 27th birthday last week.

It was so sweet to be back in Canada (it's been almost a year) and for once the goodbye wasn't as hard, knowing that I'll be back in Ontario again shortly after Christmas. Hopefully it will be good and snowy by then.

Now that I am back in our flat in London I've been thinking all things Christmas - I can't wait to pick up a real tree from Columbia Road next weekend, and I've already snagged some adorable baubles from Tiger for decorative purposes!!

As the month's have been getting colder I've also been snuggling up at home whilst reading a few "Gone Girl-esque" thrillers: The Girlfriend and The Luckiest Girl Alive. Both are supposed to be turned into movies next year!

Since I'm officially in the holiday spirit, I wanted to quickly post a few holiday gift essentials before Black Friday rolls around so we can all snag a deal on some thoughtful gifts for friends and fam. I've included my favourite trainers, the perfect stocking stuffers and anything else that I'm currently after!

It's no secret that I am obsessed with fall.... Halloween plus Thanksgiving plus my birthday all wrapped in one season? I could not be more excited. While I'm not super, super happy to be turning another year older this year, I am pretty pumped to be heading to the US during Halloween.

So in that spirit, I've compiled a list of my 20 Etsy fall favourites for the year, which include Halloween cookies, comfy #SquadGhouls t-shirts, spooky party decor, chunky throws and more...

Aerial Artwork: The Look for Less

If you're obsessed with Gray Malin like me (I have pinned his photography countless times but am just not willing to shell out $2k+ for a print), check out DaydriftPrints on Etsy.

I love nothing more than cozying up in our living room with a good book (I'm currently reading The Luckiest Girl Alive, it's so good), fuzzy socks and a warm cup of tea. Now I can do that whilst dreaming of a beach vacay.

I purchased Daydrift's two piece Bondi Beach print set in 12x18 (Lustre), and could not be happier - I really think they give our room that finishing touch!

The frames are also a bargain for £19 from Amazon (Mount 24"x18" Pic Size 18"x12").

So if you're looking for a good Gray Malin dupe check out DaydriftPrints. They're based in the US but also ship to Canada and Europe, so you should be all set.

Use the code STEFSTRIBE20 to get 20% off your gorg new artwork!

Fall(ing) in Love with London

Sunday 24 September 2017

Fall is in the air and with it I've begun to blog again! I'm so sorry for the radio silence over the last month, but I promise I'll fill ya in on what I've been up to in this post.

The last bits of summer were filled with a getaway to Croatia for a friend's 30th and a quick work trip to Munich last week for Oktoberfest. Now I'm staying put in London until the end of October, when I'll be heading to New York and then back home to Toronto for a weekend!

 Enjoying Oktoberfest at Schützen

I've also been spending a lot more time exploring London and enjoying all it has to offer. I've lived here for almost three years now, and have just added another favourite restaurant to the ever-growing list... Anima e Cuore. It's really cheap and the Italian food is just like in Italy but it's BYOB. There isn't much ambience (it's in the back room of a gelato place) but if you're in it to satisfy a craving there is no place I'd rather go for truffle pasta.

Another favourtie is Little Bay (also crazy, crazy cheap for a dinner out in London!) and we had super yummy mexican this weekend at Corazon in Soho.

Last night in Hvar

This photo was taken on our last night out in Hvar. I didn't write a blog post on this year's trip however if you need Croatia tips, check out my Hvar post from last year to find the best bars and restaurants - the post is up to date!

The earrings I wore in Croatia are so fun, aren't they? I'm really digging tassel earrings because they make me feel like I'm always on holiday. Grab them (or a similar pair) below!

Getting into the colder months makes me want to curl up by the fire, sip mulled wine and go for a Sunday roast. The Holly Bush or The Wells Tavern are the perfect spots to do all three! I keep seeing this wonderful older gentleman out painting on weekends, and this time he was doing a gorgeous painting of The Wells.

Last weekend he was in central Hampstead painting Villa Bianca, which you can see over on my Instagram. We took his business card but sadly lost it... can anyone help me find him!?

That's it for now... I promise I'll write another post soon!

Where to Eat in Capri

Capppriiii, Capriiii. How I love you but how you hurt my wallet!

Here are my five favourite restaurants in Capri, in order. Can you guess which one came in at #1?

5. Da Paolino Lemon Trees: Probably the most famous restaurant on the island of Capri... you must go for their lemon linguine! The ambience is just perfect -- dinner is served under picturesque lemon trees!

4. Villa Verde: Outstanding seafood, pizza and pasta! Truly a place to go for a long, relaxing dinner. Also be prepared to see a few celebrities at this spot.

3. Da Tonino: This place is known for their huge wine list - a bit off the beaten path but well worth the 15 min walk from the main square. The food is delicious and you sit outside in what feels like a little romantic treehouse!

2. Da Gelsomina: Technically in Anacapri, but had to be added to the list purely for their caprese ravioli. They offer a free shuttle to the restaurant from the main square in Anacapri, and you can use their pool for free after you're done with lunch!

1. Bucca di Bacco: Best. Pizza. Ever. This mom and pop restaurant is super affordable, packed with locals and very close to the main square in Capri. The pasta was also to die for and the whole atmosphere was a truly authentic, Italian experience.

Dower & Hall Gems

Happy Friday!! I think a lot of you will agree with me when I say the right jewellery completes any outfit. I usually travel with a carry-on only (thanks, Easyjet) and I don't have the space for big, chunky jewellery - so I was especially glad to team up with Dower & Hall on this post as they carry a variety of beautiful lightweight accessories!

So many of their bracelets, earrings and necklaces can be worn day to night which is a must in my book. I love dainty pieces so I just had to bring their Sterling Silver Kubes Nomad Bracelet and Rose Gold & White Sapphire Vermeil Twinkle Bracelet with me on my recent trip to Rome and Capri.

Both pieces are stunning to wear on their own or layered - I love to wear them with my watch and am a strong believer in mixing metals!

They also offer personalization on their site, plus 10% off your first order when you sign up to their newsletter and the Rose Gold & White Sapphire Vermeil Twinkle Bracelet (priced at £95) would make a lovely gift for mum, the girlfriend or any special lady in your life! Plus their packaging is really cute to boot!

Thanks Dower & Hall for partnering up on this post!

It's All Greek to Me

Thursday 13 July 2017

Dress: Surf Gypsy (Similar) | Bag: Gucci | Flipflops: Havaianas

The Greek Islands are beyond incredible, and Mykonos (Santorini's younger, wilder cousin) is truly a special place. We spent five sun-filled days on the island and I've highlighted our favourite places to eat, drink and of course party!

We stayed at Corfos Hotel this trip, and I previously stayed at Villa Del Sol - both hotels are beautiful, affordable and in close proximity to Ornos Beach.

Drinks on Ornos Beach

If you're planning a trip to Mykonos, plan to get very, very lost. Mykonos town's labyrinth-like layout was built in order to protect its inhabitants from pirates. But this narrow, pebble-paved maze is a fun one to get lost in - it's bursting with beautiful restaurants and cool shops around every corner. Be on the lookout for detailed silver jewelry and handmade leather sandals. I bought a pair of gorgeous Greek sandals at Kampanas... they have hundreds to choose from so don't miss this shop!

Our favorite restaurant in Mykonos was Kostantis - it's on Ornos Beach, and I swear this place has the best tzatziki we have ever tasted... and we sampled a lot of tzatziki in five days. Other favourite eats include Kuzina (for the sushi) and Appagio for the romantic atmosphere.

Our favorite bar was Interni - it is super expensive so skip dinner and come late for drinks and dancing. We also enjoyed catching the sunset and party at Scorpios, which is on the other side of the island. Caprice (on Little Venice) is also a lot of fun for dancing and drinks!

If whitewashed villages, tzatziki & feta are your thing... you have to go to Mykonos!

The French Riviera

My best friend flew in from Toronto for the week so we decided to head to Nice together for a girls weekend! A lot of people ask how I manage to travel so much but a lot of the trips fall over long weekends, or I only take a day or two off work. This was no exception, and we spent three sunny days wandering around the beautiful pebbled beaches dotted along the Promenade des Anglais.

Travelling within Europe can be super budget friendly if you plan ahead or wait for a seat sale. My flight to Nice from London was £70 roundtrip and the hotel was £50 each for two nights, so this was a weekend that definitely didn't break the bank.

Walking along the Promenade des Anglais

Our highlights of the trip were exploring the old town, hiking to the top of castle hill and sunbathing at Ruhl Plage. A beach chair at Ruhl Plage is €21 so we decided to splurge one day, and then just buy a straw mat for €3 at a local shop and lie on the stones the following day - which is what the majority of the locals do.

Made it to the top of Castle hill

Exploring the beautiful old town

In terms of nightlife, we enjoyed two rooftops - the one at the AC Hotel and Le Méridien's La Terrasse. But we had the most fun dancing at La Havane - which had the best. mojitos. ever.

Food-wise we didn't have any fabulous experiences worth mentioning, but we did have wonderful gelato at Papilla.

Ruhl Plage

The only thing we would do differently next time is add on a day trip to St. Tropez, Cannes or Monaco as they are all quite close!
