We just got back from a wonderful weekend in Copenhagen! As usual, I've compiled a list of our favourite places to eat, play and stay while we explored this incredible city.
Upon arrival we took the 20 minute train from the airport in to the city center and headed to our fab home for the next three days, the Absalon Hotel. Our stay here was wonderful and the free breakfast was so yummy! The hotel is located in the red light district but don't let that put you off, as it's incredibly close to the central train station and you can access the entire city so easily from there. We personally did a lot of walking this trip -- I think we walked almost 45km all weekend touring Copenhagen!

We spent the first day enjoying some amaaaazing pizza from Mother (a great restaurant that was highly recommended) and then headed off to some apres dinner drinks at Ruby. Ruby is a beautiful cocktail bar tucked away inside an old townhouse from 1740 in the oldest part of town. It faces the parliament buildings and Thorvaldsens museum, just in case you're having trouble finding it!

The next day we set off on foot to explore some neighbourhoods, including Frederiksberg and Norrebro, while stopping for pastries at Naturbageriet and a cappuccino at Kaffeplantagen on the way.

At this point we'd already crossed the bridge over to Frederiksborggade, which I thought was a very cool area that reminded me quite a lot of when I used to live in Berlin.
From there we did a bit of sightseeing and took in the Church of Our Saviour, the Rundetaarn, Freetown Christiania and of course, the famous Nyhavn.

bread is whole grain, from slowly raised dough - it's definitely worth a visit!
From there we headed to Papiroeen ("Paper Island"), a street food market that offers creative and tasty food for everyone! From surf and turf burgers to tacos and Thai, they have it all - and the atmosphere is really cool too.
Day 3 found us heading to Vesterbro's popular Sønder Boulevard for a lazy brunch at Mad & Kaffe. Seriously this place is to die for and succeeded in satisfying all my basic girl brunch needs. You can pick and choose your morning plate based on 3, 5 or 7 portions of dairy, veggie, meat/fish and something from the bakery.

Even after eating all of this, the last thing we wanted to do before catching our flight back to London was to taste something Danish from the Torvehallerne, the biggest food market in Copenhagen.
After taking a good look at the market, we decided to settle on a smørrebrød and porridge
We experienced all that is Danish in a fresh, flavourful and artfully stacked little package known as smørrebrød. Hallernes Smorrebrod at

sandwiches from a selection of local ingredients that change daily - it was too good to pass up.
For dessert, we opted for a sweet porridge from GRØD; apples, bananas, dulce de leche and a flat white from Coffee Collective. Mmm mm mm!
We had a fabulous trip and I would go back in a heartbeat! I hope this guide helps you pick out some amazing spots if you ever find yourself in the city. To recap:
